Whimsical Afshar, Tribal Persian Rug

Immaculate 1940's Persian tribal rug woven by the ancient afshar tribe. This rug is in fact a panel of a cushion used for seating by the Afshar tribe that has been repurposed as a small entry rug. The Afshar tribe produces unique, and attractive designs that are feature high quality craftsmanship attributing to their pasting quality. Because these works are so unique and durable, they are highly sought after by collectors.
The pile of this rug is entirely comprised of Persian wool that was raised, sheared, dyed, spun, and woven by a member of the Afshar tribe around 80 years ago. Afshar weavers are known for their skillful weaving abilities, and ancient technique that attributes to the lasting quality of their works.
Afshar rugs are known for their unique tribal style, and excellent use of colors. This piece is no exception, it's repeating vase design and vibrant colors stand out against its deep navy base enhancing its floral design. This attractive rug can be thrown anywhere and look great with any decor. It's easy to see why collectors can't get enough of these beautiful rugs.
Though this rug was woven 80 years ago it is still in great shape. It seems almost untouched by the effects of time and can last another 100 years.
This piece, like the rest of our collection, was hand-picked by Persian Rug expert and Shiraz native, Jason Dadras. Each piece was acquired through the relationships he forged around the world. Our rugs are ethically sourced and have been legally imported.
