Antique Persian rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Bijar design featuring medallions in green and orange over the ivory center field. These ornate geometric details belong to the Herati family of rug patterns. It’s a stunning piece to get for modern, contemporary and rustic spaces. It has a dimension of 4’5” x 7’5” which is perfect for runners in hallways and entryways.
Bijar is a small town in ancient Persia largely populated by Kurds who infused their rug creations with motifs from their own culture. Kurdish weavers took pride in the durability of their work, Bijars are highly compact which helps prevent dirt particles from getting lodged into the rug. Today, Bijar rugs are highly sought after by designers and collectors who use them in high traffic areas in homes and commercial establishments.
