Antique Small Size Malayer with Slate Field and Center Medallion
About the Item
The small, abrashed camel-beige stepped and notched sub-field encloses a relatively conforming hexagonal, medallion with bold anchor pendants. The slate field shows a small lattice of flattened octagons. Caucasian-style ecru border with slanted leaves and trident calyxes. It is not unusual for Malayers to adopt certain Caucasian design features. Good condition, moderate weave on cotton.
