About the Item

Interweaving the gap between modern interior styles and traditional Persian carpets, this simplistic two-tone gray carpet measures 5’10” x 8’8” and features an all-over geometric design. Inspired by classic Persian carpets, especially those of the Luri and Gabbeh tribes, this carpet features a repetitive pattern inspired by traditional Persian tribal motifs. By rhythmically re-arranging these rudimentary motifs into a small-scale and compact alignment, the carpet produces a contemporary and textured foundation perfect for virtually any space. Orley Shabahang continues the traditional weaving process by working with weavers, house to house, village to village, to preserve the art of weaving as a cottage industry and implement these traditional methods to create the heirlooms of the future.
