his antique, circa 1880, Bidjar rug has an ivory field with an overall design of diagonal rows of polychrome bold lozenges linked by angular moss-green vine, delicate flowerheads and palmettes, in a navy-blue border of bold polychrome palmettes and scrolling light blue arabesque floral motif linked by polychrome floral and leafy vine between ivory and brick-red floral vine stripes, outer plain ivory stripe.
