About the Item

Successfully knotting traditional Persian weaving with modern interior design, this Gabbeh-inspired carpet measures 11’8” x 11’3” and belongs to the Orley Shabahang Tribal Collection. Organically dyed in inviting shades of soft blue, sandy taupe, red, indigo, and gold wool, this hand-woven Gabbeh-inspired carpet is completed in the Orley Shabahang exclusive Shekarloo weave. Take special note of the unique background tone. Depending on which direction you stand, this tone can either read light blue or sandy taupe. For the carpet’s design, this Gabbeh illustrates an overhead view of the weaver’s property, in this case, a plot of farmland. Tranquil and inviting, the tribal-inspired bucolic design has sporadic floral detailing and four structural motifs in each corner of the carpet. With similar detailing, the exterior border, acting as the farmland’s fencing, encompasses the rural plot and is decorated with small tribal-stylized motifs.
