As if rivers were cutting through a mountainous landscape, this transitional topographic floral carpet is hand-knotted, measures 9'10" x 13'7", and belongs to the Orley Shabahang World Market Collection. Woven using a traditional Persian technique, this carpet's pile is hand-knotted with light pink, cream, taupe, black, and blue wool onto a cotton warp and weft foundation. The carpet's design features a repetitive geometric background, divided with curvilinear lines, detailed with gentle flower and garland motifs constructed off the background's exterior edges.
