About the Item
Measuring: 8’1” x 10’5”, approximately 8’ x 10’, this carpet’s warm cream background is detailed with deep black silk highlights. Hand knotted and with all-natural wool and silk, this contemporary carpet, titled "Hunting Scene," depicts a pattern of pouncing leopards in a pleasing yet dynamic arrangement. Playful yet echoing the regal ferocity of the figures from the piece upon which it was based, the design is unique to Orley Shabahang’s Animal collection.
Orley Shabahang works house to house, village to village with our weavers, working to preserve the art of weaving as a cottage industry, and implementing ancient weaving methods to create the antiques of the future.
