Persian Hamadan Rug
About the Item
Hamadan is one of the largest weaving areas in the region and encompasses hundreds of villages. Each one of these villages has its own characteristic weaving tradition that dictates the patterns and sizes of the rugs made there. The rugs are mostly geometric such as this beautiful piece. This rug has wool pile with cotton foundation. This tribal hand weaved gem is considered to be durable and long lasting and it is could be used in traditional or transitional design as well. The base color in this piece is blue with light red blue border. One side of the fringe has been braided which is part of its style and you can see it in the rug images section. The size is 4 feet 7 wide by 6 feet 11 tall.
