From the Orley Shabahang World Market Collection, this indigo and neutral brown transitional carpet is hand-knotted and measures 8' x 9'9". Completed using a traditional Persian weave, this carpet's luxurious pile consists of hand-spun wool, hand-knotted onto a cotton warp and weft foundation. The inspiration for the carpet's design comes from traditional Persian flower garden themes, featuring four medallions sitting in each quadrant of the piece. The four medallions are detailed with classic Persian flower and butterfly motifs and interconnected with vine and garland motifs. The indigo detailing used for the carpet's medallions and motifs contrasts perfectly with the carpet's neutral brown background. Due to the carpet's rich brown background tone and functional size, this piece will thrive on light floors or in interiors where a large-sized area rug is needed.
