About the Item
This Persian Tabriz carpet created circa 1990 consists of cotton warp and threads and a hand-knotted pure wool pile. Completed in the style of Haj Jalili, the design depicts stylized butterflies flying over a garden of flowers, with the wings resembling peacock feathers. The artist also pays tribute to the master weaver Haji Jalili through the coloration shown in the carpet, created using natural dyes in beige, grey, cream, and light brown. The piece retains its own character while paying homage to one of the greatest master weavers of Persian carpet making. It is in excellent condition, and the size is 10'5" x 14'7".
Orley Shabahang takes pride in selecting and curating the finest vintage and antique carpets, ensuring that the preservation of this ancient art form will endure for generations to come.

It is an exceptionally Fine example from the master artist and weaver Haji Jalili, and was crafted using his own signature wool and dyes. While the coloration may look simple upon first glance, it actually consists of a complex combination of earth tones based on the rule of seven. That is, there are seven different shades of brown, seven of beige, seven of pale green, and so on. It is extremely challenging for a weaver to work with colors that are so similar and yet still be able to distinguish among them, especially while working with such fine woolen yarns. The resulting piece is one of amazing dimension and timeless beauty. The tree of life illustration, amid Cyprus...Category
