Rare and Fine Antique Persian Sarouk Carpet, Ivory Field, circa 1940s

About the Item

Usually Sarouks are red and un the 9' by 12' size, so this larger, ivory ground example is quite uncommon. The floral sprays of the field move around the red central diamond medallion. The navy border features more flower sprays and layered petal palmettes. Accent tones overall include: rust red, yellow, teal, sky blue and lime. Good condition with a close weave and leathery texture. Fine weave, but lines of wear. Beautiful carpet. Fairly good condition.
