Incredible Mid 20th Century One of a Kind Heriz
7' 9" x 11' 7"
Stunning example of an original Persian Heriz. Easily one of the most recognizable rug designs in the world, the serapi design was pioneered by the original Heriz tribe many generations ago. The Heriz tribe has branched out into several sub tribes, so works created by the original Heriz tribe are highly sought after. Not only is this piece woven by the original Heriz tribe, but it is also a one of kind design. Many, many examples of Heriz's and their designs are produced around the world by many cultures, so this is an excellent chance to own a Heriz that is like no other! A exceptional piece for those with exceptional taste.
Comprised of very fine wool masterfully woven in a knotting style that is incredibly fine for these weavers. This tight weaving style not only makes this piece sturdy, but gives it greater depth in design. This rug is radiant and catches light in ever direction. The materials and craftsmanship in this piece truly make it stand out, and it gives off an almost regal impression when down on the floor.
This astounding rug features a level of depth not typically found in Heriz's of this generation. The fine weave of this piece allows for intricate details not typically found in these designs. It's round medallion is particularly unique as well and generally not seen in these rugs. All of these details have been well balanced with a masterful selection of colors that have been perfectly incorporated to make this incredibly attractive rug. Rusty red, blues / Navy, and a touch of gold and cream play off each other in this beautifully harmonious color scheme. These colors look great on any floor and this design will go well with any decor.
Despite being over 70 years of age, this rug is in great condition. The pile is evenly worn and free of stains. This timeless piece is a testament to the lasting quality of these rugs and will look beautiful for the next 100 years and beyond.
