About the Item
This vintage Persian Heriz Serapi area rug, dating from the early 1900s, exemplifies the timeless appeal of classic tribal design paired with a refined color palette. The central navy medallion is accented with hues of blue, red, yellow, and green, framed by corner spandrels in a luminous shade of sky blue. A deep navy border surrounds the field, adorned with intricate motifs in blue, green, and rust. Woven from exceptionally fine wool and dyed using organic vegetable-based pigments, the rug displays vibrant abrash variations throughout—pale blue, navy, rust, and green—offering a dynamic interplay of color and texture. A true heirloom piece, this Heriz Serapi rug adds warmth, sophistication, and history to both traditional and contemporary interiors.

View AllVintage Persian Heriz Karajah Area Rug in Pale Blue, Pink, Green, Rust Red
Located in Barrington, IL
This vintage Persian Karajeh area rug from the first quarter of the 20th century is a stunning example of traditional Northwest Persian village weaving. Handwoven with a refined sense of proportion and symmetry, the rug features a classic Karajeh layout with three geometric medallions arranged along a deep navy blue field. The medallions are rendered in soft abrash blues and pinks, creating a beautifully weathered, time-worn aesthetic that is both subtle and expressive.
A rust-red border surrounds the field, decorated with charming tribal motifs in complementary tones that highlight the artisan's attention to detail. With its distressed look, softened palette of pale blue, green, pink, and rust red, and naturally aged character, this rug offers timeless appeal. Ideal for adding warmth, color, and authenticity to both modern and traditional interiors, it is a versatile piece of woven history.
