Vintage Persian Sarouk Carpet, Brown Allover Field, circa 1940s

About the Item

In the Saraband style, this west Persian urban carpet has a brown field with numerous half drop rows of tiny angular bottehs, and a border system with a central old ivory band with an angular vine and hanging bottehs. There are eight further patterned borders on this very solidly constructed carpet which is in very good condition with a firm, nearly velvety pile of excellent quality wool.
