Vintage Tehran Rug

About the Item

Vintage Tehran Rug 3'4'' x 5'6''. One of the relatively few pieces made in the capital between the Wars. The twelve flaming lobe medallion suspends garland and is framed on the straw-ecru field by rose trails. The light border features a meandering thin black tendril swinging around triples of roses. Barbed sickle leaves, rosettes and curved stems in the medallion. Finely woven on cotton.
