Antique Turkoman rug, circa 1890. A Turkoman or Turkmen rug from Turkmenistan formerly part of the Soviet Union. These are tribal rugs easily identifiable by their colors and the ethnic symbols used in the weavings. This lovely small rug is a wonderful example of all the skills used in creating these pieces, the colors the tremendous detail in the pattern, finally the fringe or border. Size: 2'9 x 5'4.
