Blue Snowflake Mid-20th Century Signed Wool Swedish Bohusslöjd rug

This Swedish Bohusslöjd rug features a geometric pattern characteristic of Scandinavian design, particularly in its use of symmetry and repetition. The rug displays a pattern of floral-like shapes or stylized snowflakes, arranged in a grid with each "flower" composed of hexagonal and diamond forms. The primary colors are cool shades of blue, varying from deep navy to lighter sky blues, with some subtle greens and grays adding depth and contrast. Signed by the original weaver. The craftsmanship reflects traditional Swedish weaving techniques, with a focus on flatweave textures. The pixelated, angular style of the motifs evokes a modern yet timeless aesthetic, typical of Swedish folk art, emphasizing simplicity and harmony in design. About the weaver: Bohusslöjd was a Swedish artisan association. It was formed in 1906 as the handicraft association Konstfliten. A name later changed in the 20th century to Bohusslöjd. The association ran studios, courses and stores in Gothenburg. From 1940 to the end of the 00th century, they had a well-known shop at Kungsportsavenyn. Bohusslöjd is known for its attention to detail and heritage craftsmanship.
