This custom Swedish Kilim rug design is from the flatweaves in the Scandinavian rug collection by Rug & Kilim. Handwoven in wool, cotton and natural yarns, its design is inspired by Rollakhan and Rya rugs in the Swedish Deco style.
On the Design:
These photos represent a 9x12 rug in this design, with hourglass-like geometric patterns in varied green, gray and blue tones on a beige-brown field. Keen eyes will admire undyed, natural yarns interwoven for a look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique of ours both innovates and honors mid-century weaving techniques inherent to Scandinavian style.
