These photos represent a recently sold 8x10 rug in this construction—handwoven in wool. From our exquisite range of weather tested outdoor kilim rugs, this piece is durable, sustainable and equivally formidable in body to our primary Scandinavian Kilim line.
On the Design:
This rug enjoys light and cool gray and white tones underscoring geometric patterns in both a grid and chevrons —very keeping with the Swedish minimalist style that inspired this collection. Keen eyes will admire a look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique both honors mid-century weaving techniques and creates a modern take on a vintage abrashed look. The result is a subtle compliment to the sense of movement that plays beautifully with this comfortable Swedish-style pattern.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic.
