This is a Scandinavian Style Rollakan Textile woven circa 19th Century and it measures 100 X 53 cm. This fabulous textile is a perfect example of the best principles of northern style - it's gorgeous, practical, and elegant and it bears a signature at central top part of the textile (1781). It features a bold geometric pattern with a rich and highly satured color pallete. The Rollakan textile is made of wool and has a beautiful design that would add some Nordic style to your home. The Rollakan technique it is perhaps, the one most generally associated with Scandinavian textile design. In Sweden the word comes from: rö - a development of rygg meaning back and lakan meaning cloth or cover.
