About the Item
This iconic vintage Swedish flat-weave rug designed by Ingrid Dessau (1923-2000) features an all-over design of geometric shapes and lines in varying shades of grey, with yellow accents. The rug is a handwoven art-piece in an excellent condition. Throughout her career, Ingrid Dessau worked with Kasthall, Hemslöjden in Kristianstad, and Kinnasand. She also completed commissions for the Swedish embassies around the world, restaurants and banking venues. She was awarded with H.M. The king of Sweden who honoured Prince Eugens medal to Ingrid in 1990.
Ingrid Dessau is considered one of Sweden's foremost textile designers and a perfectionist when it comes to pick the right shades of colors. It once been told she cut a tress of her head and sent it to the factory so she could get the exact shade of grey. The rug is cleaned and in perfect condition.
