Hand-knotted in wool, a 3x11 runner from Rug & Kilim’s latest prominent curation of rare, rich tribal pieces. Originating from Turkey circa 1950-1960, the rug enjoys a diamond pattern on the field encasing traditional motifs in rich tones of blue, gold, red & beige-brown. The pattern displays a powerful flow while remaining outlined with cultural symbols—widely believed to connote protection & fertility in Turkish lexicons— conveying a fine tuned balance in masculine & feminine aspects in kind. Connoisseurs & collectors may note fine fringes & solid flatwoven striations on the border exemplifying the tactility in nomadic style. Prevailing in great condition, a specimen of unique folk art worthy of being a meaningful addition to a variety of projects.
