About the Item
A vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "long piled") rug from Konya in Central Turkey, made of lamb’s wool, with a soft, long pile in red, yellow and brown. These contemporary looking, functional small rugs with lustrous wool pile were produced for daily use by nomads and villagers of Central Anatolia until the 1960s. Today they are considered collectible as well as highly decorative as each one is one-of-a-kind and representative of a diminishing form of textile and tribal art. Measures: 4.8 x 9.8 ft.
