This attractive flat-weave rug is handwoven in fine local wool to create a sturdy floor covering. This type of Kilims (woven in the intricate "Jijim" brocading technique) were produced by nomads in South Central Turkey around mid-20th century for daily use in their tents rather than re-sale or export purposes and today they are very popular in western interior design world for their charming traditional designs and affordable prices.
