About the Item

A lovely example of Anatolian prayer rug tradition from one of the most prolific weaving centers of the country, the Kirsehir - Mujur area in Central Turkey. The stepped arch design of the "mihrab", prayer niche, is inspired by the medieval Turkish architecture of the region.
