Antique Decorative Oushak Carpet, circa 1910s
About the Item
This coarsely knotted, but very decorative carpet presents a sandy-straw field with what looks like an armorial, heraldic shield as its centerpiece, with a well-spaced scatter of small stars, arrowheads, hexagons, and rosettes. The mellow madder border shows stepped lozenges, Y-shaped flowers, and four leaf clovers.
