Dancing curvilinear patterns paired with a classic sense of eastern symmetry lend this antique Hereke rug tones of grandeur and whimsy alike. Originating from Turkey between 1910-1920, this piece enjoys hand-knotted high-quality silk throughout the body and pearls in the upper central field, complementing the rich and ornate hues of crimson red, green, and golden-beige with a natural shine accenting the detail and finesse of the repeating floral motifs in the field and border alike; though, the silk’s natural luster is best highlighted in the open field, where the abrashed silver-beige tones present a unique sense of gravity while surrounded by richer color ways.
