Hand knotted in notoriously sheen angora wool originating from Turkey between 1900-1910, this antique rug connotes an early 20th century medallion-style Oushak design in a rich traditional pallet of burnt red and beige-gold tones. The natural luster and a silky texture of the angora wool complement the brilliance and grandeur of the geometry in a Classic fashion, bringing out a red and gold play which was particularly celebrated among late 19th century and early 20th century Oushak pieces of the period: in notable condition maintained with minimal distress.
