It is a type of carpet known as the Turkish Fertek carpet in the 19th century.
Colors and Patterns: This rug features a variety of floral and geometric patterns in red on a cream background. Among the patterns, there is a large floral motif in the middle and elements such as small flowers and leaves on the edges. The colors are obtained with natural vegetable dyes.
It was woven by hand on vertical looms using wool and with a symmetrical Turkish knot. Carpets were produced to decorate important places such as palaces and mosques.
