Antique Turkish Fertek Rug 19th Century Fertek Rug Size: 130x212 cm It is a type of carpet known as the Turkish Fertek carpet in the 19th century. Colors and Patterns: This rug features a variety of floral and geometric patterns in red on a cream background. Among the patterns, there is a large floral motif in the middle and elements such as small flowers and leaves on the edges. The colors are obtained with natural vegetable dyes. It was woven by hand on vertical looms using wool and with a symmetrical Turkish knot. Carpets were produced to decorate important places such as palaces and mosques. Artistic Purpose and Value: This carpet is a rare and valuable piece that reflects the artistic richness and masterful craftsmanship of Turkish Fertek carpets.
