Antique Turkish Oushak Rug
About the Item
Soft warm pink on an ivory ground with tan motif elements. This soft contrast antique Oushak features a central medallion, stylized palmettes and eccentric meandering vine forms with leaves and rosettes. The scale of the border matches the large scale forms of the field. Oushak, in central Anatolia, has been an important center of Turkish weaving since the fifteenth century.
