50224 Antique Turkish Oushak Runner with Mid-Century Modern Tribal Style, Hallway Carpet Runner 04'01 x 10'00. With vibrant colors, bold geometric forms, and primitive charm, this hand knotted wool antique Turkish Oushak runner manages to beautifully meld tribal style with modern, traditional, and contemporary interiors. The abrashed field features three expanding concentric serrated diamond lozenges with latch hook edges. It is enclosed with an Elibelinde border. Derived from the virility of the Ram's Horn motif, the Classic Elibelinde motif, also known as the “hands on hips” or goddess motif, is thought to represent motherhood and fertility while ram’s horns represent masculinity and power. The fertility bereket motifs that appear combine the symbols of both man and woman, often referred to as ram’s Horn and hands-on-hips motifs, into one design with a diamond in the centre. Though deceptively simple, this tribal pattern is steeped in Anatolian tradition.
