About the Item
An antique Anatolian Sharkoy kilim from Western Turkey. A really outstanding example of an early Sharkoy kilim with cochineal dye which is only found in the earliest examples. Sharkoy kilims are also known as Sarkoy or Thracian, they originate from Western Turkey or the region known as European Turkey or The Balkans.
The weave is very tight and fine, the design is typical of the region, note the beautiful and rare border design.
Very good condition with slight wear. Hand washed and ready for use. A true collectors item.
