Contemporary Turkish Serapi Rug with Black and Ivory Botanical Details

About the Item

Contemporary Turkish rug handwoven from the finest sheep’s wool and colored with all-natural vegetable dyes that are safe for humans and pets. It’s a traditional Serapi weaving featuring a lovely ensemble of botanical designs in black and ivory over a red field. It’s a stunning piece to get for modern and rustic spaces. It has a dimension of 7’2” x 9’6” which is ideal for living areas, bedrooms, and dining rooms. Serapi, unlike most handmade rug names, does not connote a place or tribe. It pertains to ‘Serab-i’ which translates to ‘of Serab or Sarab’ which is a popular rug weaving city in East Azerbaijan. Serapi rugs actually came from the Heriz region but its remoteness made it difficult for merchants to access these carpets and so they were brought to Serab. IMPORTANT: ACTUAL RUG COLORS MAY VARY FROM PICTURES & DESCRIPTION. YOU MAY REQUEST ADDITIONAL PHOTOS/VIDEOS OR CONTACT US FOR CONFIRMATION BEFORE PURCHASE.
