About the Item
An alluring vintage hand-knotted "Tulu" (Turkish word for "shag-piled") rug made of wool in red from Central Anatolia. Measures: 3.6 x 5.5 ft.
These simple, functional, small rugs with plain design and lustrous wool pile were made for daily use by nomads and villagers in the town of Konya in Central Anatolia until 1970s. Today these decorative rugs with Minimalist designs are also considered collectible as each one is one-of-a-kind and representative of a diminishing form of textile and tribal art.
