Vintage Kars Rug with Coral Ground and Cream Border
About the Item
From an outlying bit of the Kazak area, this Turkish large scatter rug shows a simplified version of the “Eagle Kazak” with a characteristic radiating ecru medallion supported by half octagon motives above and below, on a coral ground. Cream strip style main border with slanted leaves and hooked calyxes. Two running dog hooked minors and an outer bitonal reciprocal triangle strip. On wool, moderate weave. Good condition.
