Vintage Kars Rug with Dark Green Field and Brown Details
About the Item
Kars is technically a part of the Kazak district, and many earlier pieces show strong, direct Caucasian influences, as here, with a dark green field almost completely filled by a tripartite medallion with partially faced foot and head and a central rectangle, al with ecru edging. Ecru main border with a chalice and serrated leaf design. Wool foundation, moderate/coarse weave, good condition.
