Shapes and symbols fill the corner spandrels, while the classic combination of a palmette main border and a carnation meander inner border frame the composition and contrast the geometric motifs of the central design. Stylized amulets, combs, crosses, snakes, and hooks, all of which are thought to protect against evil, appear throughout. The lively mix of elements, combined with the impressive array of symbols, makes this vintage Oushak rug quite attractive and alluring.
