This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak runner features a pole medallion composed of serrated octagonal motifs patterned with eight-point stars connected by triangular arrow tips and outlined with latch-hooks. The abrashed red field is dotted with stylized leaves in the shape of a quatrefoil cross. It is enclosed with a classic compartment style border flanked an inner diagonal guard band and an outer carnation meander guard border. Highlighting vibrant colors and an exotic pattern, this vintage Oushak runner is an amalgam of tribal influence and goes beyond the boundaries of everyday design to evoke feelings of otherworldly stories and symbolism.
