52338, vintage Turkish Oushak Area rug with Romantic Bohemian style. This hand knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug features two connected hexagonal medallions with anchor pendants floating in the center of a stepped, cutout brick red field. The medallions contain superimposed stepped hexagons surrounded by small carnations and various geometric forms. Square Meander and running water guard borders flank the graphic main border, which features eight-pointed stars, also known as octagrams, in a variety of colors. Eight-pointed stars are often thought to represent happiness and spirituality. Additional eight-pointed stars, along with cruciform shapes, appear in the corner spandrels, recalling designs from the main border and center medallions. With its soft color palette, lively design, and timeworn appearance, this vintage Oushak rug would be a welcome addition to any interior. Rendered in variegated shades of brick red, ruby red, maroon, cerulean, powder blue, denim, gray, oyster gray, stone gray, greige, cream, ivory, beige, camel, tan, ocher, gold, celadon, sage, hot pink, pale pink, mauve, sienna, and coffee.
