About the Item

77153 Vintage Turkish Silk Metallic Souf Hereke Tapestry, 01'11 x 02'08. Turkish Silk Metallic Souf Hereke Tapestries are exquisite masterpieces blending silk's luxurious elegance with the shimmering allure of metallic threads, originating from Turkey's renowned town of Hereke and crafted through traditional techniques passed down through generations. They boast intricate designs inspired by Turkish cultural heritage, featuring elaborate floral patterns, geometric shapes, and motifs symbolizing wealth, prosperity, and spirituality. The addition of metallic threads like gold or silver enhances their opulence, creating a radiant glow that mesmerizes viewers. In a graceful homage to Louis XIV style, this hand-knotted Turkish silk metallic souf Hereke prayer rug exudes timeless elegance and regal charm. At its heart lies a cross-like medallion, adorned with arabesque vines, blooming palmettes, and delicate leafy tendrils that intertwine amidst stylized florals of peony, carnation, and lotus flowers. Encircling this central motif is a palmette Herati border, embellished with intricate floral meander inner and outer guard bands, as well as zigzag chevron stripes, adding depth and richness to the design. This exquisite handwoven silk Hereke tapestry transcends mere decoration, infusing any opulent period interior with color and vitality. Whether adorning the walls of a formal setting with elaborate furnishings or gracing the ambiance of an Ottoman-style interior, its vibrant hues and intricate patterns bring a sense of vibrancy and life to any space it inhabits. Each thread woven with care and precision, this tapestry is a testament to the rich artistic heritage of Turkish craftsmanship and design. With its captivating beauty and exquisite craftsmanship, this silk Hereke wall hanging serves as more than just a decorative piece—it is a statement of elegance and refinement.
