About the Item

This vintage 4x7 rug is a new addition to Rug & Kilim’s Mid-Century Pasha Collection. This line is a commemoration, with rare curations we believe to hail from multidisciplinary Turkish designer Zeki Müren. Further on the Design: This design marks one of Müren’s unique takes on Swedish Deco style, and enjoys an intriguing geometric pattern in black and beige. Connoisseurs will note a play of medallion and all-over style, as well as interesting field spandrels with curved designs departing from the angular patterns within. This both creates a natural depth and draws the eye to admire the chartreuse and moss green background hues so beautifully chosen in this design. The play of a mid-century modern design, smart colors, and shabby-chic distressed texture lends a one-of-a-kind look. An exemplar of Müren’s distinguished rugs, and a collectible piece for this period. Further on the Condition: This mid-century rug further enjoys an otherwise good condition for this shabby-chic lineage. Ready for the floor, and especially well-suited to projects yearning for country aesthetics. Hand-knotted in wool circa 1960-1970.
