About the Item
"Kama Allegro a Piacere" is a limited-edition design rug with a sumptuous and wild hand-woven weave in viscose fiber.
This contemporary design is part of the capsule collection ‘Kama 2021’ created to celebrate "Kama" rug's twentieth anniversary. The designer Deanna Comellini, driven by the artistic freedom of her creative process, updated the bestseller rug's original style by playing with the reflective properties of the weave. She introduced textures that create fascinating lights effects, and vibrant, magnetic colors to the iconic collection now part of the history of design.
Viscose is soft, shiny, and velvety as well as very resistant. In the color "Bianco Luce", a bright natural white, this rug creates a surface of great visual impact, taking center stage in any space. The softness of this rug makes it ideal for environments like living rooms and bedrooms, while its brightness and brilliance perfectly match marble floors.
"Kama Allegro a Piacere" is a vegan rug realized in the best quality viscose fiber derived from cellulose. Its yarn has gained two sustainability and ethics certifications.
The designer Deanna Comellini wanted to underline the entry of "Kama" among the icons of contemporary design as a modern classic by playing with the names of the 2 new models of the capsule collection. The name "Kama Allegro a Piacere" is in fact an explicit reference to classicism and the heritage of Italian culture through classical music, a symbol of elegance, precision, creative genius and dynamism.
"Kama Allegro a Piacere" has been selected as one of the best designs from Salone del Mobile 2021 by Town and Country Magazine.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
In 2022, Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy.
