Art Deco Rug European with Checkerboard and Labyrinth Design, 1920-1950
About the Item
This is a semi-antique European Art Deco hand-knotted rug woven during the second quarter of the 20th century circa 1920 - 1950s and measures 230 x 170CM in size. This piece has a highly geometric design with squares creating a checkerboard and a labyrinth design interrupted with alternating directions of repeating triangular motifs creating a highly abstract field. This piece has been preserved in perfect condition retaining all its original long pile and has been made using all-natural vegetable dyes. This rug has recently been professionally washed making it ready to be used and enjoyed for many more years in any classical or modern setting.
