Circular blue carpet with butterfly diameter of 275 cm. Denmark wool 1960's

About the Item

This carpet is a magnificent circular specimen with an impressive diameter of 275 centimeters. Its base is an intense and enveloping shade of blue, creating a pleasant sensation of depth and serenity. At the center of the carpet, stands out a large azure butterfly with open wings, appearing to almost float in the blue sky of the carpet, creating a captivating contrast. The shades of azure used for the butterfly give the carpet a sense of freshness and vitality, while the dark blue background creates a perfect frame to highlight the details of the butterfly Danish - pure wool 1960’s This carpet is designeted by Ib Antoni Denmark. Ib Antoni was a Danish designer (1929-1973). He worked as an advertising designer at the advertising agency "Buchtrup’s Klichéfabrik". Famous for his advertising posters, he worked for Tivoli, Victor Borge, Dyrups, Life Magazine, J. Walther Thomsen, Young & Rubicam, Esso, Carlsberg, Volvo, UNICEF, and Philips. His love for fairy tales led him to illustrate books by H.C. Andersen. Originally, Ib Antoni wanted to be an architect. His passion for design never waned, and therefore, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, he devoted himself, in addition to poster design work, to projects that could satisfy his interest in the architectural field. He also made his debut, before his premature death, with beautiful carpet designs, poetic children's books, colorful textiles, and elegant porcelain for Royal Copenhagen.
