18th century Verdure Tapestry

About the Item

18th century Verdure tapestry measuring approximately 8 by 10 feet. Originally made popular in French courts in the 1600’s They were very popular in the French courts. This example from the 18th century has an impressive range of colors with a rich boarder. It appears that it has been restored and professionally backed. The subject matter depicts the mythological story of Narcissus who falls in love with a reflection in a pool of water, tragically not able to leave it. The size is wonderful for adding a bit of antique beauty to your home.
