About the Item

Very beautiful and rare carpet signed by Jean-Georges Beaumont (1895-1978), Art Deco period, circa 1925. Artist and creator of French textile art. Between 1919 and 1939, Beaumont worked for the workshop La Maîtrise and exhibited his works in Parisian salons as well as at the Palais Galliera. He creates porcelain for the manufacture of Sèvres, and decorations for enamels, lacquers and screens. He draws posters. However, his specialty will remain the creation of textile art. Besides tapestries for the manufacture of Beauvais and for the manufactories of Aubusson, Jean Beaumont creates fabrics for Tassinari and Chatel as well as for Cornille & Co., then carpets for Braquenié, Hamt, Bouix and Aux Fabriques d'Aubusson. His repertoire consists mainly of luxurious floral designs. Très beau et rare tapis signé de Jean-Georges BEAUMONT (1895-1978), d’époque Art Déco, vers 1925.
