  • Lustys Lloyd Loom Zeppelin / Airship Chair with Royal Marking, W.Lusty and Sons
    By Lloyd Loom
    Located in Halle, DE
This is a museal piece. Original Lloyd loom chair, Model: 32, produced between 1927-1941. This chair is from 1938 and it is the biggest armchair Lustys ever produced. It was intentionally designed for the interieur of the british R100 Zeppelin / Airship, because it was very light and the passengers could sit well it it with their overcoats. Airship were badly heated. The R100 flew from 1929-1930 - so it is obvious that this chair has not been onboard. Later on these chairs were very popular among the pilots of the British Airforce, because they were wide enough for waiting right in their pilots-outfits during the air combats for England. Just very few chairs of this model survived this. The Anacara Company, Stamform USA, holds a piece in its collection. Altough this chair has the stamp "WL&S" which means W. Lusty and Sons...
