19th Century Convertible Pair of Monk's Chair or End Table, Foldable Armchair

About the Item

19th century convertible monk's chair is cleverly engineered to provide two uses. Seat back down, it's a table, seatback up it's an armchair. Sculpted from solid oak, it features carving on both sides of the tabletop or seatback so it's attractive no matter what mode it's in. An ingenious space-saver, circa 1870s, in the manner of Stephen Hedges Metamorphic table. Measures: Height to the seat 13in Height to the tabletop 22.49in Total height (armchair) 31.5in.
