Antique Armchair by C.B. Hansen, Copenhagen Denmark Late 19th Century

About the Item

Elegant armchair crafted by C.B. Hansen’s Etablissement, Royal Court Furniture Manufacturer in Copenhagen. This piece dates from around 1890 to 1910 and reflects the refined neoclassical style popular in Denmark at the turn of the century. Made from solid lacquered beech wood, the chair features turned front legs and arm supports with acorn finials, a gently curved backrest, and a wide, slightly triangular seat. The seat is upholstered in a later brown leather. Traditional wooden joinery and craftsmanship are visible throughout, and the original maker’s label is intact beneath the seat.
